The setup is designed around both town PRs and mafia using death WIFOM to gather info and using timed role reveals in order to scumhunt.
Optimal Play[]
The existence of godfather, miller, and hooker, along with the use of medic as a relatively weak protective, discourages a reliance on cop for reliable info in favor of scumhunting and the use of proper surveyor play to provide information regarding the roles of dead players.
Janitor and mesmer exist to provide information about flips to the mafia, with the added wrinkle that mesmer is available for use in fake claiming to soft "confirm" a mafia and/or frame a suspected villager as doing the same.
Hooker discourages early PR claims and provides a plausible mechanism for mafia to fake claim sergeant.

Inspired in part by summit mafia and some old vet's crier setups (wanna say it was wishfulahoge but don't quote me on it), Reports Of My Death Were Greatly Exaggerated provides a simple, scumhunt-heavy setup that encourages creative PR claiming from both alignments in order to obfuscate information from the other.
